I. Use the installation account
You can run HORTICOPIA Professional with Windows XP Home only in the user account under which it was installed. In addition, this must be the primary (owner) account on the system.
If you require multiple user accounts or wish to run in a different account, you will have to upgrade to a business class version of Windows such as XP Professional, Vista Business, or Vista Ultimate.
If you try to install HORTICOPIA Professional in an account other than the primary account on Windows XP Home, the SQL Server installation will fail and HORTICOPIA Professional cannot be run. See the next section on determining if the SQL Server was installed and is running.
II. Determine if the SQL database server is running
Use the SQL Server 2005 Configuration Manager to determine if the SQL Server is running. How?
III. Reinitialize database settings
Using the HORTICOPIA Control Panel, reinitialize the database. How?
IV. Check communication with the SQL Server
Using the SQLCMD utility, check to see if communication can be established with the SQL Server 2005 on this computer. How?
V. The Computer Name was changed
If you first installed HORTICOPIA Professional before
version 5.0.121 and you change the computer name, you’ll have to modify the
connection string as described here . Set the data source to LOCALHOST\HORTPROSQL.
