Note: This procedure should not be used for HORTICOPIA Professional Server installations. This procedure will work only for standard (stand-alone) installations.

  1. Open the  SQL Server Surface Area Configuration (Start menu, select All Programs (or Programs), Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Configuration Tools, SQL Server Surface Area Configuration)

  2. At the bottom of the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration window and click on Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections

    Select Remote Connections

  3. Click on Remote Connections, which should appear under HORTPROSQL:Database Engine

    Select Local Connections

  4. Select Local connections only

  5. Click on Apply

    Restart the Service

  6. Click on  Service under HORTPROSQL:Database Engine

  7. Click on Start

  8. The service should start now.  Once it’s started, click on OK

  9. Close the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration
If the service started successfully, you should now be able to run the HORTICOPIA Professional software. If you are running Vista, be sure to right-click on the HORTICOPIA Professional icon and select Run as Administrator (unless you have turned off USer Account Control).
