If you have Windows® Vista, then the first time you run HORTICOPIA® Professional you must run it as an Administrator. To do so, right-click on the HORTICOPIA® Professional icon and select "Run as Administrator".

You must also do this the first time you run after downloading and installing an update.

If you have a Hardware Key for carrying your license or for Garden Studio®, you may need to do the following steps if your computer does not recognize the key.  Or if you have Version IV, just get the latest software update from our site.

  • First make sure you are logged in as an Administrator
  • Click on the Windows Start
  • Click on the Windows Control Panel
  • Click on System & Maintenance
  • Scroll down to Device Manager then click on View Hardware & Devices
  • Click on Continue
  • Find the Universal Serial Bus Controllers then click on the + (Plus Sign)
  • Right mouse click on CBUSB Ver 2.0 (the icon may be in yellow)
  • Click on Update Driver Software

Professional Versions IV and V have been tested with Windows Vista.  The procedure described above is the only adjustment you need to make to run Version IV.
