The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Beautiful Gardens program have introduced 'VT Spirit', a new daylily bred to showcase the colors and community spirit of Virginia Tech University.

'VT Spirit' shows off its Virginia Tech colors of maroon and orange during a long blooming season. It is tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions and grows in full sun to partial shade. In those areas of hot summer afternoons, it should be planted in partial shade to avoid sun scald.

'VT Spirit' was hybridized by Linda Pinkham and named for her alma mater, Virginia Tech.

'VT Spirit' is available through Brent and Becky's Bulbs.
